Period Home Painting Restoration in Werribee – 1950’s Weatherboard Transformation

After some detailed consultation with our wonderful clients on colour schemes and scope of work, we were thrilled to complete a full exterior restoration on this stunning 1950’s period home in Werribee.

The property’s original exterior had become dated with a heavy dark green finish, hiding much of the home’s charm. Our brief was to restore and highlight its timeless features while giving it a modern, elegant appeal that would stand the test of time.

What We Restored

Our team carried out a complete repaint and restoration of key exterior features, including:

  • Weatherboards

  • Windows & trims

  • Gutters & fascia boards

  • Eaves

  • Front picket fence

We used premium Wattyl Solagard, a trusted exterior paint known for durability, UV protection, and weather resistance – perfect for Melbourne’s changing conditions.

The Colour Scheme

To bring out the true character of this period home, we applied a carefully selected palette:

  • Wicker White – Weatherboards (fresh, warm, and timeless)

  • Monument – Gutters & fascia (modern contrast with depth)

  • Lexicon Quarter – Eaves, windows, and fence (crisp, clean highlights)

This palette not only brightened the façade but also created a balanced contrast that enhanced the architectural features of the home.

The Results

The transformation was remarkable. The once-dated exterior was revived into a warm, inviting, and contemporary period home that blended classic charm with modern style. Beyond just aesthetics, the professional repaint contributed significantly to the property’s market value.

Thanks to the expertise of James Christou at YPA Werribee, this beautifully restored home achieved an impressive $920,000 off-market sale – a true testament to the value of quality painting and restoration work.
